NC Builders is a general contractor building in Nevada City and the surrounding foothills. A handful of projects a year — whole-home remodels, historic renovation, custom new construction — each carried by the same crew, from the first conversation to the final detail.
Many of our projects begin with a phone call from someone who has recently bought a home, wanting to make it their own before settling in. The home might be a century old or three decades old. The work might be a full remodel or a single careful intervention. Others come to us with a piece of land and a home still to build, from foundation to finish.
What stays the same is how we approach it: thoroughly and transparently. Whatever the house — new or a century old — we build for performance, comfort, indoor air quality, efficiency, and resiliency — not just how it looks.

Some of the people we build for are here every day; others are a few hours away — a home bought before a move is finished, weeks split between two places, a job that hasn’t relocated yet. Either way, the work stays on us, not on you.
So we build for that. One point of contact, the same person from the first conversation to the last. Photos and updates from the site when they matter, so you know where things stand without having to ask. And no surprises on cost — anything that changes is priced and approved before it happens, whether you’re across town or a few hours away.
